Research Seminars

The CRG-MENARG research seminars are meant as a forum for CRG and MENARG members, UGent PhD students and invitees whose topics are related to the research agenda of CRG or MENARG. The aim is, on the one hand, to share research findings and challenges with others and, on the other hand, to have fruitful peer discussions on the topic and/or methodology used.

The CRG-MENARG research seminars are organised as follows: After a presentation of the paper, a discussant comments and highlights key points that are worth discussing further. Then there is time for questions, comments and round table discussions. Presentations can be in Dutch, French or English. A (draft) paper is distributed by email one week in advance. If the (draft) paper fulfils the criteria, after review by CRG/MENARG the paper can be published as a working paper on the respective websites.

The CRG-MENARG research seminars are open to CRG and MENARG members, UGent PhD students with related research interests, and invitees. In principle, there are five seminars per semester, scheduled on Fridays at 15h. The seminars are held in the meeting room PS05 next to the CTWS secretariat, Universiteitstraat 8, Gent.

The up-to-date CRG-MENARG research seminars agenda of presentations scheduled can be obtained on request (email to Els.Lecoutere@UGent.be).

UGent PhD students interested to present a paper in a CRG-MENARG research seminar, should send an email to Els.Lecoutere@UGent.be with the following information: (working) title, preferred date, your affiliation and the name and email of the discussant (if already known).
